INTRODUCING YOU TO AMERICA

"I WANT TO REPRESENT YOU, SPEAK FOR YOU, ADDRESS YOUR NEEDS"

Conside This

America is the only country where a recent immigrant's offspring feels entitled to assume the position of President of all the people even as they relate more to the parent's home country than the new land of their birth

So, you want to lead? What is your history in America? Are you first generation here?

Every candidate for office begins by saying how much they want to represent YOU. I ask, "how can you represent me if you don't know me?" The people should ask the candidate to tell them what they know of their group before determining if he or she speaks their language.

Let me introduce you to America's racial and ethnic mix. Then you'll have a better understanding of who to trust and who to doubt as your spokes-persons.

We know that when the earliest settlers arrived, Native Americans and Mexicans inhabited the land we claim as the United States. The early settlers were primarily British and they were invaders. In 1619, an interesting mixture of people landed in the colonies. In addition to free and indentured British citizens there were free and indentured Africans. In other areas of North America land was claimed by Dutch, Swedes, Finns and Spanish nationals.

As early as the 1670, people from Germany, Scotland and Ireland arrived. Followed in around 1790 were French settlers and in the 1850s we saw Chinese workers arriving. In the 1880s immigrants included Italians, Greeks, Poles and Hungarians. By the late 1880s America saw an influx of Catholic and Jewish immigrants.

Non-European ethnic groups began arriving with some numbers in the early 19th Century from Middle Eastern countries bringing more diverse cultures and religions. American settlers feared these new arrivals claiming that they lacked political, social, and occupational skills needed to successfully assimilate into American culture. Efforts were made to limit people from Asia, Africa and parts of the world that were less white.

In 1945, the War Brides Act allowed foreign-born wives of soldiers to come, opening doors for waves of foreign women from war locations. Immigrants from the Philippines and Asian Indians were allowed to immigrant but with a quota of 100 per year per country.

In 1953, the Refugee Relief Act extended refugee status to non-Europeans. As a result, the failed 1956 Hungarian Revolution opened doors to refugees from Hungary along with thousands of immigrants from Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, UK, Japan,  Mexico, and Canada.

With passage of the 1965 Immigration and Nationality Act, part of President Johnson's Great Society program that aimed to stimulate immigration from Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and developing countries, America saw millions of ethnic groups from around the world settle here.

America is a wonderfully blessed nation where we can enjoy the fruits of international relations without leaving home. We can dine on Greek, Italian, Korean and Indian cuisines in the same week. Experience traditional cultures and dress, hear diverse languages spoken and talk with representatives of the world. What we do not have is common respect for one another.

Immigrants from the earliest settlers brought and bring   homeland values, traditions and biases. They establish "Little Ethnic Enclaves" like home even when they are so-called assimilated. The Salad Bowl ideology replaces the Melting Pot. This concept depicts richly displayed ethnics honoring tradition as well as homeland alliances and political interests.

A difficult reality of America exists wrapped in an awareness of natural laws that demand preservation of your own. Our own group, culture, beliefs and traditions even in variance to America's stated values. Observe hundreds of ethnic parades and celebrations throughout America each year, waving homeland flags and wearing homeland garb.

This is America. The America politicians want to "speak" for without knowing the history or the language of the unique composition of this country.. Can they wonder why voters are skeptical about their sincerity or capacity to implement this task?

We must talk about real solutions by first loving and respecting each other. Then LISTEN. Once we have something meaningful to say, let's talk about it.

Learn American History Before You Represent the People

Nikki Haley, Former Governor of South Carolina

'"It's now fashionable to say that America is racist. That is a lie. America is not a racist country." she said. "This is personal for me. I am the proud daughter of Indian immigrants. They came to America and settled in a small Southern town. My father wore a turban. My mother wore a sari. I was a brown girl in a Black and white world. We faced discrimination and hardship, but my parents never gave in to grievance and hate. My mom built a successful business. My dad taught 30 years at a historically Black college. And the people of South Carolina chose me as their first minority and first female governor. America is a story that's a work in progress."

HOW IS IT A CELEBRATION OF "NO" RACIAL BIAS WHEN THE ACCEPTABLE "MINORITY" IS NOT NATIVE TO AMERICA, ADOS, BUT "OF COLOR" TO BE GOVERNOR OF SOUTH CAROLINA, PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES AND VICE PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE? THEY ARE CHILDREN OF AN IMMIGRANT WITH NO ADOS IMMEDIATE FAMILY MEMBERS. WITH NO EXPERIENCE TO RELATE PERSONALLY TO THE HISTORY, COMMUNITIES AND LIFESTYLES OF ADOS. THEY DO NOT KNOW OUR ISSUES, OUR CULTURE AND YET PRESENT TO AMERICA AS A "BLACK AMERICAN."

ARE WE INTERCHANGEABLE BASED ON SKIN COLOR?

AFTER 400 YEARS "NO" ADOS HAS BEEN FOUND WORTHY OF THESE OFFICES?

Living beings do not automatically get along, including humans. We stake out our place, own it, protect it and prepare it for our young. Merged societies are naturally challenged to get along as they try to preserve what is valued and resist change. Conflicts arise and are controlled by the strongest hand.

Can't we all just get along? No. It is not normal. WE MUST BE TAUGHT to overcome our natural tendencies to favor our racial, ethnic, religious and identity group in deference to the whole.

Nations of immigrants must prepare new arriving people to know and appreciate that homeland's traditions and assimilate under one flag. Mandatory race and ethnic history instruction is needed for all citizens to prepare them to respect each other just as it is necessary to be taught American Civics prior to citizenship.

An Understanding Of Race Relations In America is needed to heal 400 year old riffs that continue to tear the fabric of our humanity. We must ask, "What kind of nation do I want to pass to my heirs?" What can I do today to insure that this can happens.       GET INVOLVED

Religious thought has suggested a positive side of ethnic mixing that argues against selfish interests toward Kingdom establishment where love and respect rules. Consider how this can be accomplished. Consider a world of Earth Nation citizens. Consider elimination of wealth building by oppressing others toward wealth building that includes others, where people are valued regardless of pedigree, physical features, beliefs, levels of education. Consider respect for building nations by not taking their talented and best, not allowing them to abandon their nation in order to contribute to another nation. Stop purging some locations and refine their ability to use homeland talented and best to build nation's wealth.

If you cannot or do not desire to see this kind of world, what is the alternative?

Race Relations is not automatic. If you insist upon race and ethnic mixing,

you must work out a plan to co-exist.
